About Us

Mel is originally from Canada, but has called Roatan home for several decades.  She and her two sons, Deo and Auri (together, the DAM team (Deo, Auri, Mel), decided to invest together to build a family business on the island of Guanaja, just east of Roatan.  The property was purchased at the end of 2022, and a few camping trips were done to check out the land.  A small cabin has been built in 2023 to provide a home base as they get the land ready to be the future home of Guanaja Eco Retreat- we are so DAM excited!   The plans are to spend the next few years saving and putting infrastructure in a bit at a time over the next few years, with the business starting up in the next 3-5 years.  You can follow our journey on our website blog, and if you like rustic living, contact us to arrange a stay in the 'survivor shack'.
